Good night in the NHL for ex-WCHA players

*Former North Dakota star Jonathan Toews scored his first NHL goal in his first NHL game last night. He missed the Blackhawks' first few games due to a finger injury. Fellow rooke Pat Kane, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, assisted on Toews' goal

*Making his first NHL start, former Badger netminder Brian Elliott made 28 saves in the Senators 3-1 win in Atlanta. Elliott was named the No. 1 star of the game.

*Ex-Minnesota State blueline Steve Wagner picked up his second assist of his rookie season in the Blues 4-1 victory over the Predators.
