The
LetsGoDU Hockey Blog is reporting that senior-to-be Geoff Paukovich will forgo his final season of eligibility for the Pioneers and sign a pro deal with the Edmonton Oilers. Paukovich, who had 48 points over his first three years in the Mile High City, was a 2004 second round draft choice of the Oilers and would have been one of the Pioneers' top returning forwards.
He would be the third Pioneer to leave early this offseason. 2006-07 leading goal-scorer and fellow senior-to-be Ryan Dingle singed shortly after last season ended with the Anaheim Ducks, and sophomore-to-be Keith Seabrook left DU early last week to join the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL.
